He says Xandros has adopted Moblin v2 for future netbook implementations. He demonstrates a Moblin v2-based fast boot product called "presto," which is aimed at Windows systems. He also shows off the Xandros CNR (click and run) application store, and highlights Xandros's PIM product for Moblin, a "Flipper" application switcher, and a push email client for Moblin. Malamut says Canonical has worked with "many" OEMs both in Taiwan and oversees, and has delivered Clutter-based Moblin implementations for Dell and Toshiba products, and also worked with HP. He says Canonical can help bring products to market by leveraging its ecosystem of service providers and partners. He notes that Canonical expects to ship an open source Moblin stack called Ubuntu Moblin Remix in Sept., 2009.
